Dr. Barbara J. Knotts is Director of the Tenaces Project, a Title III, Part F, HSI grant and Department of Creative Multimedia for San Antonio College. Dr. Knotts’ professional career includes 20 years in the library profession and an additional 20 years in multimedia. As a member of Texas Library Association (TLA), she served twice as President of the Texas Library Association’s Black Caucus Roundtable and Chair of Conference Local Area Arrangements. She was awarded the Tall Texas Leadership Award by TLA. Other honors and recognitions include the LINK 100 Top African American Women Educator award, a participant in the People to People Delegate to Russia and a presenter at AHSIE conferences. She is a lifetime member of Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Dr. Barbara Knotts holds two Associate Degrees from San Antonio College, a Bachelor’s in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin, and an Ed.D in Leadership in Higher Education from Northcentral University in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
