IF YOU NEED:
Drop-in advising is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. When visiting the department without an appointment, you can expect extended wait times. We would like for you to have the best possible advising experience so, for your convenience, consider virtual drop-ins.

* On-campus drop-ins are located in the Moody Learning Center (MLC) on the ground floor.
Drop-In Services:
- Receive brief (~ 15 mins) advising guidance
- Get assistance with general questions
- Review Registration PIN tasks
- Identify resources to support your success in school
- Complete Change of Major and Change of Primary Institution requests
NOTE: Transient (visiting) students are able to meet with advisors through in-person and virtual (Zoom) drop-ins only
- September 4 - December 7: Advising appointments available
- Receive 30-45 min guidance through your ASSIGNED ADVISOR
- New SAC students, are assigned an advisor by census day of their first semester on campus and, can begin scheduling appointments after attending a general advising session.
- Visit Advising How-to Guides to learn how to schedule appointments
- Get assistance with Dismissal petitions, Financial Aid appeals, and Graduation applications
- Review your Individual Success Plan (ISP)
- Complete advising before submitting 3-peat/27-hour Tuition Appeal
- Learn how to petition for Course Overloads
- Contact the Advising Office if your assigned advisor's schedule does not appear in Navigate

- Remember, Wintermester is part of the spring term and Maymester is part of the summer term.
- Consider registering for the entire academic year at once using Full Academic Year Registration (FAYR)

Submission Dates
- Fall 2024: May 1 - June 27, 2024 (before 11:59 p.m.)
- Spring 2025: September 9 - November 1, 2024 (before 11:59 p.m.)
- Summer 2025: No Appeal Process
Complete your SAP Appeal
- Watch this brief tutorial:
- Update your GPS degree plan in ACES
- Make your SAP appointment in Navigate or visit Advising in Moody Learning Center (MLC) ground floor to schedule your session
- Complete your Reasons for Appealing in ACES (Visit Writing Center for help preparing your reasons)
- Log onto Alamo Colleges ACES Portal
- Select “Student” tab
- Select “Web Services” link
- Select “Financial Aid” link
- Select “Appeal for Financial Aid Reinstatement” link
- Complete the 3 required statements for the online Appeal form
- Reason for suspension
- Action Plan
- Educational Goals
- Submit supporting documentation to the Financial Aid office within seven (7) days
Students completing SAP appeals must be current SAC students:
- If you are not a SAC student, contact your home school’s Advising department
- If you have not taken classes for more than a year, ask for help at our SAC Welcome Center

Refer to your Alamo GPS, found in ACES, to review your degree tracking tools:
- SAC Degree Plans allow you to view the courses you need to advance in your selected SAC program of study
- Transfer Advising Guides (TAG) identify courses that apply to your SAC program and the University major at your identified transfer school

Visiting (Transient) Students, taking classes at SAC for the semester, can receive assistance from Certified Advisors by e-mail, telephone, and drop-in services on campus and via Zoom.
Contact your assigned advisor for additional assistance. Visit ACES "My Page" for the name and e-mail of your assigned advisor. If you do not have an assigned advisor, contact your advising institute:
