Eligibility

Who can apply

  • High school graduates.
  • Travis Early College High School dual credit students.
    • Gifted and Talented early admission.
    • Honors Students/AP Exams.
  • Homeschool @ SAC students with special contracts.
  • Students who are taking core classes at SAC towards a degree or professional program that applies.
  • Pursuing a SAC Associate’s Degree requiring at least 12 hours in the Texas Core Curriculum and willing to participate in Program activities, seek out volunteer/experiential learning, and complete a major Research Symposium project by graduation (ideally, in the second or third semester of classes).
  • Others by application.

Minimum requirements

  • High school graduates: minimum 3.00+ GPA (85/B).
  • TSIA 2.0 placement: college-level Writing and Reading with a minimum essay score of 5.
  • College first-year: minimum 3.00 GPA.
  • Individual exceptions may be made case-by-case.
  • New in 2026: Pre-Honors first-year classes.

After admission (good standing)

  • Maintain at least a 2.75 GPA.
  • If taking “Pre Honors” classes, professor or Director endorsement.
  • Pass all attempted courses with a C or better.
  • Meet academic advising benchmarks.
  • Remain in good standing with the College.
