Undergraduate Research

Undergraduate research is a valuable learning tool for students at four-year universities but has historically been unavailable to community college students. The Project BUILD grant helps fund new research through its CURE initiative for course-based undergraduate research experiences in STEM.

These unique opportunities connect SAC instructors and their STEM students with area industry partners already engaged in meaningful research in a variety of fields. Our CURE students have analyzed archaeological artifacts from the Alamo historical site, have studied sleep quality data, and have researched sustainable power technologies with local industry leaders.
