Family Orientation

Welcome to the SAC Family!

We are excited to offer Family Orientation sessions — designed to provide you with the resources, information and connections you need to be an informed and engaged SAC family member.

Important Information About Family Orientation and New Student Orientation

Family Orientation at San Antonio College is designed specifically for parents, guardians and family members of SAC students. While family participation is encouraged, please note that Family Orientation is a separate event from New Student Orientation (NSO).

Students must register for NSO through the official registration process. During sign-up, students will have the option to indicate whether a family member plans to attend Family Orientation.

Please note:

  • Family Orientation is intended for family members only.

  • Students will attend NSO separately, where they will receive important information about academics, advising and campus resources tailored to their needs.

All Family Orientation sessions are held in person at Fletcher Administration Building (FAB), Room 212, on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, June 10 from 1 to 5 p.m.

  • Tuesday, June 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Thursday, June 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Wednesday, July 9 from 1 to 5 p.m.

  • Tuesday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Thursday, July 24 from 1 to 5 p.m.

  • Tuesday, July 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Why Attend?

Family plays a key role in a student’s success. Our Family Orientation sessions give you an inside look at the services, resources and opportunities available at SAC — all designed to help your student thrive.

You’ll meet campus partners, connect with other families and walk away with helpful tools and insight to support your student throughout their college experience.

Who Can Attend?

Family Orientation is open to any family member or guest of an admitted student who wants to learn more about San Antonio College’s student support services, culture and traditions.

  • Limit: Two guests per student

  • Capacity: Space is limited to 50 family members per session

How to Register

Family Orientation is only offered during the summer on the dates listed above. Reservations are required and must be completed by your student through the New Student Orientation (NSO) page.

When registering for NSO, your student will be asked:

  1. Are you bringing a family member?

  2. What is the family member’s email address?

Click the button below and complete the steps listed in order to register.
