San Antonio College Welcomes Tracy A. Floyd as Dean for Student Success

San Antonio College is proud to announce the appointment of Tracy A. Floyd as the new Dean for Student Success. With more than fifteen years of experience in higher education, Floyd brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven record of championing student success through holistic support services, compliance oversight, and collaborative leadership.

Floyd most recently served as Director of Student Success at Alamo Colleges District – Northeast Lakeview College, where she provided strategic direction for multiple functional areas, including Title IX, Veterans Affairs, and Student Conduct. Among her many achievements, she spearheaded the creation of the Nighthawks Nest Advocacy Center and food pantry, securing grant funding and developing a sustainable program to support students facing food insecurity and other barriers to academic persistence.

Her leadership expertise spans Title IX compliance and investigations, veteran and military-affiliated student services, behavioral intervention, disability support, financial literacy, and program development. She has guided cross-functional teams, managed federal and institutional funding, and partnered with legal counsel, administrators, and community organizations to ensure student needs are met with integrity and innovation.

Before transitioning into higher education leadership, Floyd served in the United States Army as a Mental Health Technician, providing counseling, crisis intervention, and family support services to soldiers and their families. Her military service continues to shape her values of advocacy, resilience, and service-oriented leadership.

As a first-generation college graduate, Floyd holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of the Incarnate Word and a Bachelor of Science in Health with a specialization in Wellness Promotion from Austin Peay State University. She has also earned advanced certifications in Title IX investigation, coordination, and decision-making, along with extensive training in mediation, leadership, and veteran student support.
