Dr. Stacy Welcome
Read Dr. Stacy Welcome's Biography
Dr. Stacy Welcome is an accomplished higher education leader serving as Dean of Student Success at Houston City College Central. With more than 22 years of experience, she has progressed through key leadership roles in student services—from counseling and advising manager to associate dean and dean—while also teaching as an adjunct professor. A graduate of the League for Innovation’s Executive Leadership Institute, Dr. Welcome is recognized for student-centered leadership that advances retention, engagement, and success. She has spearheaded transformative initiatives, including a Transfer Center, Eagle Market, Wellness Center, Child Development Center with drop-in childcare, Student Resolution Center, and the Six Dimensions of Wellness framework. Her collaborative approach helped earn the Innovation of the Year Award, and she has presented nationally on strategic student services, advising case management, workforce advancement, and transfer support. Dr. Malikah Pitts Harvey
Read Dr. Malikah Pitts Harvey's Biography
Dr. Malikah Pitts Harvey is the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs at Texas Lutheran University. With 21 years of higher education experience, Dr. Pitts Harvey’s greatest achievement is assisting students in accomplishing their academic and personal goals. Furthermore, she is committed to advocating for educational access and resources for all students. In 2004, she served as Coordinator and later Assistant Director of Student Retention at Florida Atlantic University. FAU provided her with the opportunity to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to develop learning communities, support the campus’ Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, and teach first year experience courses. In 2007, Pitts Harvey joined TLU’s Division of Student Affairs as the Director of First Year and Campus Programs until 2014 and Associate Dean from 2014-2021. As the Associate Vice President, she provides leadership for career development, service learning, first year experience and student transition, counseling and accommodation services, student health and wellness, student activities and campus engagement, and campus living. Additionally, Pitts Harvey has served as TLU’s Co-Curricular General Education Coordinator, Chair of the Student Success Committee, liaison to the Houston and New Braunfels nursing programs, and a member of the Budget Advisory Committee and Staff Association Executive Board. She is affiliated with such professional organizations as NASPA First Gen Forward, Texas Women in Higher Education, and the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education. Pitts Harvey has a Ph.D. in Adult, Professional, and Community Education, M.Ed. in College Student Affairs, and a B.A. in Mass Communications. Forum Schedule:SW Campus

Dr. Jonathan King
Read Dr. Jonathan King's Biography
Dr. Jonathan King brings over two decades of senior leadership experience in higher education administration, student success, and organizational development. He currently serves as Founding Senior Vice President for Training, Capacity Building, and Academic Networking at American Investment Fund Holding LLC, where he leads global initiatives to strengthen institutional capacity and expand academic-industry partnerships. Dr. King’s career spans executive roles at leading U.S. colleges and universities, including the University of California, Davis; Lake Tahoe Community College; Southwestern College; Colorado Mountain College; and Evergreen Valley College. His leadership has driven strategic planning for student success, managed multi-million-dollar continuing education portfolios, and launched workforce and leadership development programs serving diverse communities. Dr. King has designed and facilitated executive leadership programs for colleges, government agencies, and community organizations. His work emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and expanding access to education for underrepresented populations. Dr. King holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.A. in Educational Administration from Harvard University, an M.A. from the International University of Japan, and a B.A. in Business Administration from Morehouse College. He is also a Fellow of the Executive Leadership Academy at UC Berkeley and a participant in the Association of California Community College Mentorship Program. With a global perspective and a passion for student success, Dr. King is committed to advancing inclusive excellence and empowering students to achieve their highest potential.
