Civic Engagement
At St. Philip's College, civic engagement takes many forms, and we offer programs and initiatives that engage students, faculty, and staff on campus and in the community. We serve the social and economic needs of the community while empowering students to pursue their passions through academic and job skill development.
MLK
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and March is an annual event that brings together St. Philip’s College students and employees in a shared commitment to service and community. Participants march from the Freedom Bridge to Pittman-Sullivan Park on San Antonio’s Eastside, honoring Dr. King’s legacy and his enduring message of unity and civic engagement.
Juneteenth Parade
Juneteenth Freedom Day commemorates June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans were emancipated in the United States. Each year, St. Philip’s College students proudly participate in the annual march to honor this historic occasion and celebrate freedom, heritage, and community.
