NLC Instructor of Nursing Named a 2026 Tillman Scholar

Mazurak, Allan_Tillman Announcement.jpgAllan Mazurak, Instructor of Nursing at Northeast Lakeview College (NLC), was named a 2026 Tillman Scholar. Each year, up to 60 exceptional military service members, veterans, and spouses join a lifelong community of leaders who are applying their skills to be the next generation of leaders making an impact. Recipients are chosen based on their ability to carry Pat Tillman’s legacy forward by their humble leadership and commitment to service beyond self.

Allan Mazurak serves as a nursing faculty at NLC where he focuses on preparing the next generation of nurses. Prior to this, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he trained as a combat medic, licensed practical nurse, and respiratory therapist, and later deployed to Afghanistan with a Forward Surgical Team. He earned his BSN and MSN from the University of the Incarnate Word and is currently a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student at The University of Texas at Austin.
