Written Guide

To access Kurzweil Reader:
(Kurzweil 3000 is a screen reader application that will read any uploaded documents out loud.)

1. Navigate to the Alamo Colleges’ unique Kurzweil 3000 URL (bookmark this link for easy access): 

   **https://www.kurzweil3000.com/KExternalLogin.php?app=alamoccdtxke&saml**

2. You will be redirected to the Alamo Colleges login page. 

3. Log in using your ACES credentials.

**Accessing Read the Web**
(Read the Web is a Google Chrome browser extension that allows Kurzweil to read aloud any highlighted text without uploading documents into the desktop application version.)

1. Log in to the Kurzweil 3000 tool using the steps above in the Chrome browser that has the Read the Web extension installed. You can install the Read the Web extension using the following link:

   - **Kurzweil 3000 Chrome Read the Web (3.2.6)**

(After installation, be sure to pin the 'Read the Web' extension to the top right toolbar using the extension tool located in the upper right corner of the page.)

2. Click the 'Enable Read the Web' button located at the bottom left corner of the Kurzweil 3000 interface (library). This will log you into your Read the Web extension for the duration of your browser session. If the Kurzweil icon remains grey after enabling, simply click it to reopen it. However, remember that you must first click 'Enable Read the Web' from the Kurzweil library for it to activate.
