Electrophysiology Technologist ATC

What is the Electrophysiology Technologist ATC program?

The Electrophysiology Technologist Advanced Technical Certificate program prepares allied health and nursing professionals for specialized roles in cardiac electrophysiology. Electrophysiology technologists work alongside physicians and advanced cardiac teams to diagnose and treat abnormal heart rhythms using specialized equipment, mapping systems, catheters, monitoring technology, and procedural support.

This program provides focused coursework and clinical training in electrophysiology and may be applied toward further study in allied health fields such as Cardiovascular Technology.

Program Goal

To prepare cardiovascular technologists who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession of [electrophysiology].

Program Highlights

  • Advanced Technical Certificate pathway
  • Designed for associate-level allied health and nursing professionals
  • Specialized training in cardiac electrophysiology
  • Clinical coursework across three semesters
  • Preparation for advanced roles in cardiac diagnostics and intervention
  • Eligibility to pursue the Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, RCES, credential upon completion

What will I learn?

Students will develop knowledge and skills related to:
  • Cardiac electrophysiology procedures
  • Heart rhythm interpretation and arrhythmia mechanisms
  • EP lab instrumentation and equipment
  • Patient monitoring during electrophysiology procedures
  • Sterile technique and procedural support
  • Electrophysiology mapping, pacing, ablation, and diagnostic workflows
  • Professional practice in advanced cardiovascular care settings

What can I do with this course of study?
