Graduate Spotlight: Jon Rene Aguilar

Jon Rene Aguilar is graduating, as one of St. Philip’s College’s (SPC) first graduates this December, with a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cybersecurity.

During his time at SPC, he has demonstrated what it means to lead through service. Known for his willingness to help his peers, he assisted classmates with networking issues, organized study groups, and offered encouragement during challenging exams.

Professionally, he brings a strong technical foundation and hands-on experience. His skills in networking, system security, and user access management were further strengthened by an internship with ARIAS and Associates. There, he contributed to Ubiquiti security system installations, user data management, and the development of sandbox applications. His technical toolkit includes industry-relevant tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, VMware, AWS, and Azure.

Upon graduation, Jon plans to pursue a career in cybersecurity, focusing on identity-theft prevention and penetration testing, while earning advanced certifications to further develop his expertise.

Jon Rene Aguilar will provide remarks to the graduates at the St. Philip’s College 153rd Commencement Ceremony. Congratulations, Jon!
