St. Philip’s College celebrated its largest and highest-attended Homecoming Celebrations to date with a week filled with Tiger pride, school spirit, athletic competition, student activities and opportunities for the campus community to come together. The 2026 Homecoming celebrations brought students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters together across St. Philip’s College’s Martin Luther King Jr. and Southwest campuses for a full schedule of activities designed to celebrate the college community and its Tiger tradition.

The week kicked off with two Homecoming pep rallies — one at the Southwest Campus and another at the Martin Luther King Jr. Campus. Both events featured lively performances from marching bands, music from a DJ, face painting, caricature artists and food, creating an energetic atmosphere as students celebrated their Tiger pride.

Throughout the week, students participated in themed spirit days and a variety of activities, including Tiger Nation Karaoke, a Silent Party, a foam party, esports competitions and opportunities to connect with St. Philip’s College deans. Faculty and staff also joined in the celebration through mixers and other Homecoming activities.

The college’s Health Professions programs also welcomed the community during a Health Professions Open House, providing an opportunity to learn more about academic programs and career pathways in the health sciences.

Homecoming spirit extended throughout campus with the annual door decorating contest, which challenged offices and departments to showcase their creativity and Tiger pride. This year’s winners were:

  • First Place: Center for Health Professions, Healthcare Sciences Department
  • Second Place: Vice President Suite, SLC Suite 306
  • Third Place: Center of Excellence, Building 1, C153

Athletics also took center stage during Homecoming week. St. Philip’s College club sports teams competed in women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, while the college hosted a United We Stand game against Fort Hood. The men’s and women’s basketball games also served as military appreciation games, honoring members of the military community and recognizing their service.

The celebration culminated with the annual Blue & White Dinner and Dance, where St. Philip’s College honored alumni and celebrated the college’s Homecoming Royal Court. This year’s event marked the 20th Homecoming held since President Dr. Adena Williams Loston brought the tradition back to St. Philip’s College following a hiatus.

The 2026-27 Homecoming Royal Court is:

  • SPC King: Jackson Marshall
  • SPC Queen: Angelica Juarez
  • SPC Prince: David Bermejo
  • SPC Princess: Shakira Sosa
  • SPC Duchess: Jessica Ayala
  • ECHS King: Ethnan James
  • ECHS Queen: Sa’Riyah Ellison

From spirited campus traditions and athletic competitions to opportunities for students and employees to connect, the 2026 Homecoming celebration reflected the energy, pride and community that define St. Philip’s College. The record-setting attendance throughout the week demonstrated the strength of Tiger Nation and the continued enthusiasm for one of St. Philip’s College’s signature traditions.
