What is  Economics?

Economics is the social science that studies the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services.

What will I learn?

Through economics, students will focus on the interactions of economic agents and how economies work, including the foundations of micro and macroeconomics. Students will have the fundamentals to transfer to a Bachelor’s Degree Program.  

 

What can I do with this course of study?

Economics is the study of how societies, governments, businesses, households, and individuals allocate their resources.  Economists are well known for analyzing economic conditions for investment banks, brokerage houses, real estate companies, and other private sector businesses and contribute to the development of many other public policies including health care, welfare, and school reform and efforts to reduce inequality, pollution, and crime.
