What is Humanities?

The humanities are studies about human cultures, such as literature, philosophy, and history.

What will I learn?

Students will study aspects of human society and culture.  The Humanities use methods that are primarily critical and have a significant historical element.

What can I do with this course of study?

As the study of Humanities enables you to develop excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and a foundation in the understanding and complexities of the human experience, you will be well prepared to enter a diverse field of professional careers. Fields in the humanities include anthropology, archaeology, law and politics, literature, and the classics, to name a few.

Through the exploration of the humanities, we learn how to think creatively and critically, to reason, and to ask questions
