How Bridge Works

The Bridge Program combines focused instruction, academic support, and clear pathways into college-level coursework.

Bridge Math

Students strengthen their math skills through targeted instruction and ALEKS, an adaptive learning platform that identifies what students already know and where they need additional support. This personalized approach helps students focus on the skills they need most while preparing for success in their next math course.

Bridge English

Students receive intensive developmental instruction and personalized advising to ensure they are prepared for and enrolled in their next college-level English course. Support is provided by faculty trained in Integrated Reading and Writing (INRW) and through the English Success Center.

Located within the English Department, the English Success Center offers:

  • Drop-in tutoring
  • Scheduled tutoring appointments
  • Skills-focused workshops
  • Reading and writing support
  • Academic success resources

Throughout the program, students benefit from ongoing guidance, encouragement, and support designed to help them reach the next step in their academic journey.

Why Choose Bridge?

The Bridge Program helps students move forward faster by connecting developmental coursework directly to the next required course in their pathway.

Students who participate in Bridge can:

  • Build confidence in math and English
  • Complete developmental requirements more efficiently
  • Transition directly into the next course in their academic pathway
  • Access tutoring, advising, and specialized academic support
  • Maintain momentum toward graduation and transfer

At San Antonio College, Bridge is more than a developmental education program. It's a pathway designed to help students overcome barriers, stay enrolled, and continue making progress toward their educational goals.
