On Monday, Aug. 17, let's kick off the 26-27 academic year at the Alamo Colleges District Convocation! This year's theme is "Grounded in Mission. Ready for What's Next." With the rapid changes of AI, our district has been developing guidance to help foster innovation while maintaining academic integrity, and trust. Following a brief update on these efforts, faculty and student panelists will discuss how AI is affecting students, classrooms, and the future of higher education. The event will be held at the SAC McAllister Auditorium, with breakfast starting at 8 a.m. Register to let us know how you'll be attending.

A Century of Opportunity Shaping the Next 100 Years at SAC

As SAC opens its second century, Diego Soroa — Generative AI expert and Founder and Head of the IE Edge Lab for Radical Thinking and Disruptive Innovation at IE Business School one of the world's top-ranked universities — shares a first-person account of what it means to reimagine education with AI from the inside. Beginning from what will not change — judgment, empathy, imagination, the human capabilities no technology replaces — this keynote makes the case that tradition is not the worship of ashes but the preservation of fire: and that the people of SAC, not the technology, will decide what the next hundred years look like.
