Graduate Spotlight: Shumandi Ghebremedhin

Shumandi Solomon Ghebremedhin is graduating from St. Philip’s College with an Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology. Originally from Eritrea, he came to the United States in 2010 with limited English and earned his high school diploma within two years through determination and hard work. Over the years, he has built a diverse professional background, working in hospitality, healthcare, transportation, and interpretation services. He served as a medical interpreter for five years and has completed more than 15,000 trips as a highly rated rideshare driver.
During the radiology program, he gained more than 1,100 hours of clinical experience across five clinical sites while developing skills in X-ray imaging, fluoroscopy, and patient care. In addition to his professional and academic accomplishments, he is also a priest in the Orthodox Church, a role that reflects his commitment to serving and caring for others. He plans to continue his education and further advance his career in allied health and radiologic sciences.
