In an effort to increase college communication and engagement among its employees, Northeast Lakeview College has several councils and committees each with its own charge and goal.
Charge/Goal: Sits as a hearing board and makes recommendations for the resolution of student cases related to academic improprieties.

Membership Roles & Terms: The Chief Academic Success Officer activates the Academic Integrity Panel. Members are drawn from the Academic Integrity Committee from which five members can be asked to serve when needed. The Academic Integrity Committee shall consist of a pool of members (8 -12) that shall include: 4-6 Full-time Faculty members; 1 Adjunct faculty volunteer; 2-3 members of the Professional Staff; 2-3 members of the student body.

Charge/Goal: The Academic Leadership Council is a standing council of senior academic leaders and functions primarily to help determine strategic direction and logistical efficiency for academic success and to facilitate communication on these issues among the faculty and with administration. As a council, it services both an advisory and joint decision making role. Generally, its actions are carried out through its members in their roles as Divisions Chairs or other positions, or through recommendations made to other entities.

Charge/Goal: The Northeast Lakeview College Academic Support Advisory Council functions as an advisor to the Dean of Learning Resources regarding support and services of information literacy and student research, collection and resources development, all library services and programs, support and development of faculty in using instructional technology through the programs and services of the Instructional Innovation Center, and the programs and services of the Academic Tutoring and Testing Centers. Advisory Council members function as liaisons from their respective areas to the Division of Learning Resources and from the division back to their respective areas. The structure of this committee is representation from all academic divisions, student support, college services, and chaired by the Dean of Learning Resources. This Advisory Council works closely with the Distance Learning Advisory Committee in providing robust divisional support.

Membership Roles & Terms: Emergency response teams must be three deep for each position:
- Emergency Response Team Manager (ERT Manager):Vice President of College Service and to appointed members the IC is solely responsible (within the confines of his or her authority) for establishing incident objectives and strategies. The IC is directly responsible for ensuring that all functional area activities are directed toward accomplishment of the strategy.
- Public Information Officer (PIO): The Public Information Officer is responsible for interfacing with the public and media and/or with other agencies with incident-related information requirements.
- Safety Officer: The Safety Officer monitors incident operations and advises the IC on all matters relating to operational safety, including the health and safety of emergency responder personnel.
- Liaison Officer: The Liaison Officer is Incident Command’s point of contact for representatives of other governmental agencies, NGOs, and the private sector (with no jurisdiction or legal authority) to provide input on their agency’s policies, resource availability, and other incident-related matters.
- Operations Section Chief: This person is responsible for all tactical activities focused on reducing the immediate hazard, saving lives and property, establishing situational control, and restoring normal operations.
- Planning Section Chief: The Planning Section Chief collects, evaluates, and disseminates incident situation information and intelligence to the IC and incident management personnel.
- Logistics Section Chief: The Logistics Section Chief is responsible for all service support requirements needed to facilitate effective and efficient incident management, including ordering resources from off-incident locations.

The faculty members that made up the rest of the committee were appointed during the committee selection process. One restriction that was placed by the role of the committee was that one could not be on the committee and sponsor an honors project. Members serve 2 year terms, which may be re-upped once, before a 2 year break before member may serve again.

Charge/Goal: The Northeast Lakeview College (NLC) Program and Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee (Assessment Committee) is committed to building and maintaining a culture of learning in which students, faculty, and staff share a common understanding of the meaning, purpose, and utility of assessment. The Assessment Committee characterizes this process as using student data to improve learning through a continuous cycle of gathering, analyzing, and applying this information to improve student learning. The committee is charged with defining the assessment process at NLC, ensuring that appropriate assessment procedures and practices are followed, and for providing a forum for dialogue regarding assessment issues to support the college community.

Other information (Handbook, procedures, etc.): The Program and Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee has several broad goals and responsibilities: 1. Devise appropriate recommendations and procedures facilitating ongoing assessment activities in order to measure and enhance the quality of the educational experience at NLC. This focuses primarily on the assessment of learning outcomes. 2. Determine what is currently done to assess student learning and development. This includes examination of: entry level assessment of students’ basic academic skills, entry level assessment of students’ goals and specific program assessment of students' learning and development (this could include formative as well as summative outcomes assessment relating to skills and knowledge), and exit and post-graduation assessment of students' skills and goal accomplishment. 3. Propose recommendations facilitating ongoing assessment practices which measure, document and enhance continuous quality improvement and institutional effectiveness. 4. Recommend appropriate training and educational opportunities for faculty and staff in order to facilitate the necessary awareness and understanding of key assessment issues and practices.

Charge/Goal: Exists to ensure that the established calendar and reporting requirements for the periodic review and evaluation of NLC programs and services reflect the Mission, Institutional Goals and Strategic Plan of the college, and serves as a resource for those areas undergoing the review process. NLC’s Program Review and Continuous Improvement Sub-Committee is a sub-committee of administrators, faculty and staff leaders who convene to assess five-year trends in academic and non-academic units across the college. The committee representatives ensure completion of the Instructional and Non-Instructional Unit Review template for their own respective units during the Fall and early Spring semester. During the late spring semester, the committee members review the Instructional and Non-Instructional Unit Review packets submitted by other units.

Other information (Handbook, procedures, etc.): During the review process, the Director of College Institutional Research, Planning and Effectiveness provides regular updates on the college’s progress toward meeting established targets to the Executive Team, Strategic Planning and Budgeting Committee, and to the Program Review and Continuous Improvement Sub-Committee on a programmatic level. Academic learning outcomes are reviewed and reported to the Program Review and Continuous Improvement Sub-Committee along with other academic unit results. Non-academic unit assessment results are reviewed to regularly document continuous improvement. Instructional and Non-Instructional Unit Review results are also used to make decisions about resource allocations during NLC’s budgeting process in the spring of each fiscal year as illustrated in the examples above. The Instructional and Non-Instructional Unit reviews by the committee are communicated to the administrator of the program and are incorporated into the annual plan for benchmarking progress. The Committee is undergoing establishing baseline data for trending and comparison analyses.
