The giveaway took place at Northwest Vista College and was organized jointly by the Northside Independent School District, the Alamo Colleges District, and Texas Grandparents Raising Grandchildren.

This initiative specifically supported Texas grandparents and kinship caregivers who have stepped up to raise children. Caregivers registered in advance to receive a backpack filled with school supplies.
