What information do I need in order to take my exam?

A valid photo ID is required for all exams.

Any unapproved items for your exam will not be allowed in the test room - purses, cell phones, books, etc. Please be advised to leave these items in a safe place while testing. We offer on a first-come, first-served basis, coin return lockers (this will cost a quarter). The Testing staff is not responsible for holding items and you will not be allowed to test with any unapproved items in the test room.

Having your Banner ID number ready is also helpful - this can be found by going to the Banner ID Look Up page. If you have not applied to one of the colleges of the Alamo Colleges District, please visit AlamoENROLL to find out how to apply.

Please Read: Refresher Course Required

A Mandatory Refresher is a course at no cost and provides a second opportunity into a higher developmental course or a college-level course for students that placed below College Ready on their TSI Assessment results.

Refresher Course enrollment is in Cypress Campus Center, CCC-200, or you may leave a voicemail message for an advisor at 210-486-4753.

HOW OFTEN IS THE TSI ASSESSMENT GIVEN?

The TSI Assessment is offered in the Assessment Office, CCC-207, on a walk-in basis. Please see the current Testing Schedule.

IF I FAIL A PORTION OF THE TEST, DO I HAVE TO TAKE THE ENTIRE TEST AGAIN?

The TSI Assessment is not based on a pass or fail, rather it provides you placement into college level courses or developmental courses.  The developmental courses are intended to help you be successful at the college level.

You are not required to re-test. However, if you want to retake the test, you are welcome to take any portion.  It is recommended to complete some form of test prep or intervention to help improve your current scores.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I FAIL ALL OR PART OF THE TEST?

If your performance is below the minimum passing standard for a tested skill area on the Accuplacer exam or approved TSI exam, you will be permitted to enroll in the appropriate course placement based on your test results.

WHO MAY I CALL WITH ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS?
