NVC Launches Campus-wide Wi-Fi Modernization Project
February 23, 2026
Northwest Vista College (NVC) is leveling up its digital infrastructure. On Monday, Feb. 23, the college began a comprehensive, multi-phase wireless network upgrade designed to provide a faster and more resilient technology experience for the entire campus community.
The project, a collaborative effort between District IT and Intech Southwest, will modernize connectivity in classrooms, offices, and high-traffic common areas.
Faster, Stronger, More Secure
This initiative is more than just a routine update; it is a commitment to supporting the high-performance needs of a modern digital campus. Key benefits include:
Enhanced Instruction & Research: Faster speeds to support high-definition streaming and data-heavy academic tools.
Expanded Coverage: Stronger, more reliable connections in previously difficult areas, including parking lots and garages.
Increased Network Capacity: Higher bandwidth to support more devices simultaneously and eliminate congestion during peak hours.
Superior Security: Advanced encryption to provide higher protection for both institutional and personal data.
Project Timeline & Phases
To minimize disruption, the rollout is divided into seven strategic phases. While a building is undergoing its designated upgrade, users may experience brief, intermittent connectivity issues.
