NVC Partnership with GM Financial is an Investment in Student Success
March 3, 2026
When GM Financial opened its San Antonio customer service center on Ellison Drive near Northwest Vista College in 2017, the company developed a partnership with NVC and brought numerous employment opportunities to the community including jobs in IT, credit operations, lease, and retail collections. GM Financial currently employs several NVC graduates and students and has hosted networking events at Northwest Vista College.
Since the spring of 2024, the company has sponsored the Distinguished Graduate Award, which recognizes exemplary students for their outstanding leadership skills, community engagement, and commitment to NVC. Three Northwest Vista College students selected for the Distinguished Graduate Award have received $3,500 each. The honor also comes with the recognition of being the official student speaker during NVC commencement.
GM Financial Vice President in Collections Kyle Middleton said one of the company’s strategic priorities is to create a culture to win by investing in communities.
“One of the ways we accomplish this is through higher education, which includes Northwest Vista,” said Middleton. “Our partnership with NVC to provide assistance to students is so important because it helps mold the next generation of individuals entering the workforce.”
Middleton attended the Fall 2025 Commencement ceremony for NVC in December and recalled being moved by Distinguished Graduate Husna Orya’s speech.
“She had an amazing story that touched many in attendance and we are so thankful at GM Financial that we could be a part of that special moment.”
In addition to sponsoring the Distinguished Graduate Award, Middleton said GM Financial strives to provide guidance that will help students achieve success professionally throughout their career by engaging with NVC on a regular basis. Throughout each semester, the company participates in many campus career events, and it also partners with NVC to bring students to the GM Financial facility for training to help students find successful careers after college.

Middleton advises students to take advantage of all the events and opportunities that are available to them at NVC such as career fairs, resume workshops, and externships.
“GM Financial is thankful for the partnership that we have had with NVC going back to 2017,” he said. “Together we have had a positive impact on many in the community, helping create successful careers for the next generation. We are proud to have been a part of many milestones with NVC and are looking forward to what the future holds.”
