Dean for Academic Success Dr. Jonathan Lee
Dr. Jonathan Lee began his career at San Antonio College in 1997 as a history faculty member. Since then, he has served in several leadership roles, including chair of the History, Humanities and Anthropology Department from 2009 to 2011 and Honors Academy coordinator from 2011 to 2016. Since 2018, he has led departments across multiple disciplines, including Mexican American studies, early childhood studies, sociology, social work and history. Lee has served on the Faculty Senate and the District Council of Chairs. He is a LEAP Texas Fellow, participated in the American Historical Association’s Tuning Project and is a past president of the World History Association of Texas. He holds a doctorate in history from the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s degree in international relations from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Virginia Tech. |
Dean for Academic Success Dr. Sitakanta Mohanty
Dr. Sitakanta Mohanty provides strategic leadership for nearly 40 career and technical education (CTE) programs housed in seven academic departments. He oversees workforce program development, academic operations, faculty recruitment and credentialing, grant-funded initiatives and student success efforts that support the college’s academic and workforce goals. Before joining San Antonio College, Dr. Mohanty served as academic and workforce chair at Palo Alto College, where he led programs in engineering, advanced manufacturing, petroleum technologies, logistics and supply chain, agriculture, veterinary technology and health care administration. He assisted in expanding dual credit and Early College High School opportunities, strengthened industry partnerships and helped create internship and research experiences that supported student retention, persistence and employment outcomes. Dr. Mohanty brings more than 25 years of experience in higher education and industry. Earlier in his career, he held technical and leadership positions at the Southwest Research Institute, managing multidisciplinary research and development projects and teams. He holds a doctorate in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Alabama and a bachelor’s degree in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (formerly Indian School of Mines). |
