Iannelli Appointed Dean for Academic Success

Clare Iannelli has been appointed Interim Dean for Academic Success for San Antonio College. In her duties, she will oversee High School Programs, the Teaching and Learning Center, Online Learning, Library Services, Creative Multimedia, Continuing Education, Honors Academy, the Academic Tutoring Centers and special projects.

Iannelli comes to SAC from San Jacinto College in Houston, where her duties included Dean of Student Development from 2010 – 2016 and later Dean of Compliance & Judicial Affairs from 2016 – 2022. 

She earned a bachelor’s in psychology in 1998 from the University of Saint Thomas in   Houston and a master of education in counseling psychology from the University of Houston in 2001. In addition, she is a licensed professional counselor.

Iannelli said her training as a counselor has been invaluable in her role as a dean.

“I have used those skills in every aspect of my job, whether I’m talking with a student, a faculty member, or an administrator,” she said, adding it had taught her how to be flexible with different people in stressful situations.

She is looking forward to being at SAC and using her ability to communicate and collaborate.

“It’s been one of the hallmarks of my experience – just being able to communicate with others and the ability to bring them together and find common understandings and goals,” she said.

When not working, Iannelli is an avid reader of mysteries and small-town fiction. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, their 13-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter.
