Whataburger Provides Generous Donation to NLC Advocacy Center

Whataburger was recognized at a recent all-college event for their donation to the Northeast Lakeview College Nighthawks Nest, the institution’s advocacy center. Their investment totaled $10,600 broken down into a $5,600 monetary donation and in-kind support in the amount of $5,000. Monetary funds will be allocated to the Advocacy Center for the purchase of a refrigerator or freezer, to cover the cost of subsidized food purchased from the Foodbank of San Antonio, as well as additional pantry items. Remaining funds will be used for additional resources and services provided by the Northeast Lakeview College Advocacy Center. In-kind support totaling $5,000 will provide support for various college events and activities throughout the year. Some of these include the Mental Health Fair, Salsa Tasting Competition judging, Winterfest, providing food coupons, and raffle items.

Their monetary funding will equip our Advocacy Center with the resources to better address food insecurity among NLC students and their in-kind support will expand and enhance our community and student programming. We are grateful for Whataburger’s support and generosity.”
About the Partnership
This is the first year Whataburger will be working with Northeast Lakeview. It is the start for a long-lasting partnership between Whataburger and Northeast Lakeview. This partnership aligns with Whataburger’s Feeding Student Success charitable initiatives and provides an opportunity for Whataburger Region 1700 to have a broader reach throughout Bexar County.
