Peer Mentorship Program (Info)
(See previous webpage under Advising: Sidekicks Mentoring Program)
Wildcat Connections is a peer mentorship program at Northwest Vista College designed to foster a strong sense of belonging, connection, and community among students. Through the program, new and continuing students are paired with trained peer mentors who provide guidance on navigating college life, building friendships, and connecting with campus resources. Mentors serve as approachable guides who help students feel supported both academically and socially during their first year at NVC. The mentorship experience lasts for one academic year, with students having the option to request continued participation if they wish to remain involved. Inspired by Wildcat Willie, the program encourages students to stay connected, support one another, and thrive as part of the Wildcat community.
Student Ambassador Program (Info)
(See previous webpage under Wildcat Alumni: Student Ambassador)
The Student Ambassador Program at Northwest Vista College provides students with the opportunity to serve as campus leaders who represent the college and support the student experience. Ambassadors assist with new student orientation, campus tours, recruitment events, and student-led workshops that help incoming and current students navigate college life. Through this role, ambassadors develop leadership, communication, and professional skills while helping build a welcoming campus environment. Participants must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher and remain actively enrolled in courses to continue serving in the program.
