Located in the Boerne Independent School District, the NWETC will provide education and services to Boerne and the northwest region of San Antonio. The new 42,000-square-foot multi-use building will be capable of supporting technical and academic programs and services for the community. The newly designed building was designed with flexibility in mind for future Smart Growth.

  • The expected completion is 2022.
  • The Alamo Colleges District, in partnership with Boerne ISD and our business and community partners, is committed to providing education and training for job creation and economic prosperity no matter what area of the region you are from

  • The Northwest Education and Training Center will be a 42,000-square-feet facility with 11 classrooms and about 12 areas for labs. I am especially pleased that the new center will offer services for community members, including general business and leadership for local employers and industry partners.

  • When this facility is complete in a few years, NVC will be proud to offer some of its high-demand programs such as Associate of Applied Sciences in Cyber Security and also our Certificate for a Cisco Certified Network Professional.

  • The local community also will have access to fulfill goals of getting their high school equivalency certificate, ESL Courses and some of our health-related courses.

  • This new Education & Training Center, along with our other ones located strategically in and around San Antonio, play a key role in our efforts to provide access to college programs and services so that more residents can earn a degree or certificate, or train for a high-wage, high-demand job. All of these accomplishments provide them with the economic and social mobility that provides a better life for themselves and their families, which in turn contributes to the economic prosperity of our community.

The inspiring and inclusive design invites learners from different backgrounds, fields of study, and academic disciplines into the space and promotes a shared identity for all students, faculty and staff who are part of the Northwest Vista College and the Alamo Colleges District community.

  • The expected completion is 2022.

About the CIP

In May of 2017, Bexar County voters approved a general obligation bond and awarded Northwest Vista College $69 million to make necessary improvements to current buildings and add new facilities.

The first phase has already begun with the opening of the Desert Willow Welcome Center and Texas Ash Parking Garage in 2020, to be followed by the opening of the new STEM academics building in 2022.
