Planning to participate in our 2026 FALL Commencement? Students who complete(d) their degree requirements in Spring 2026, Summer 2026, or Fall 2026 (and have a 2.0 minimum GPA) must meet with their assigned academic advisor for a degree review by the deadline. Students may participate in commencement if they have no more than two courses (6–8 credit hours) remaining to graduate. Students who apply for graduation after October 31, 2026 may still participate in the commencement, but their names will not appear on the ceremony program.

Eligible graduates can pick up graduation regalia at Grad Fest (November 4 & 5th). More information to come!
Graduates who are unable to attend Grad Fest will have an opportunity to pick up graduation regalia after the event. More information to come!

Freeman Coliseum Security Guidelines
Arrival & Check-In Instructions

Arrival & Check-In:
Graduates and candidates must arrive at the Freeman Coliseum at 4:00 p.m.
Check-in is required during this time. -
Line-Up:
5:15 p.m. – All graduates and candidates must be in place for the procession. -
Procession:
6:00 p.m. – Procession begins.
Graduate Parking is in Lot 9 for $15.
- Once you enter the Expo Hall 2, immediately proceed to the check-in station to pick up your name card.
- Once you have checked in and have your name card in hand, please visit the various stations, then continue to the waiting area until you are called to line up for the procession.
- All names will be called as you cross the stage.
- When you are called backstage, please be sure to bring your name card with you.
- As soon as you come off the stage, Flash Photography will to take your picture.
- Then return to your seat.
Students are required to remain in their seats throughout the entire ceremony.
The ceremony will last approximately 2 - 2.5 hours.
Guests can park in lots 1 & 2 for $15.

Methods of payment accepted: credit cards
Cardholder must present valid identification for all credit card transactions.
No cash or check accepted as method of payment.
Once you have parked your vehicle proceed to the NORTH end of the Coliseum and take an immediate left to enter Expo Hall 2.
Please refer to the Bag Policy & Restricted Items and make sure that you are following the guidelines, including allowed bag sizes and items not allowed (see below).
Public access to the Freeman Coliseum begins at 4:30 p.m. Guests will enter through the main entrance. Please inform your guests that they are not allowed to save seats for friends and family who arrive at a later time. Seats are available to everyone on a first come first served basis. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Degree candidates who need accommodations to participate in their Commencement Ceremony, are asked to send an email to nvc-graduation@alamo.edu to discuss accommodation possibilities with the appropriate Commencement Staff.
All Freeman Coliseum parking lots offer limited accessible parking spaces on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival is recommended. A disabled parking permit is required, and any visitor with a veteran license plate can park free of charge.
