JUAN PABLO
Juan Pablo began his dance studies at Northwest Vista College and earned a B.A. in Contemporary Dance (2015) from Escuela Superior de Música y Danza in Monterrey, Mexico. As a student, he received a scholarship to attend the American Dance Festival and later performed with Sunny Savoy Company across Nuevo León and Mexico City. After graduation, he joined Cuerpo Etéreo Contemporary Dance under Jaime Sierra and Brisa Escobedo.
While at NVC, he performed with the Repertory Dance Ensemble and worked with faculty and guest artists including Jayne King, Maggie Lasher, and Brooke Schlecte. In 2017, he joined the San Antonio Dance Umbrella Board of Directors and remained active in its performance programs.
He has performed with Clancyworks Dance Company in Maryland and participated in the Table of Silence Project at Lincoln Center Plaza in New York City. His experience also includes arts administration with the American Dance Festival and teaching dance in community programs in Maryland.
Juan Pablo has attended festivals and workshops throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Cuba. He is currently a Dance Instructor with the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department and a Teaching Artist with the Magik Theatre, continuing to collaborate with a range of artists across disciplines.
