Please note that SAC does not offer Class A Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator, Class A Water Operator and Landscape Irrigator exams.

Registration Requirements

The TCEQ MUST pre-approve your license application before you can register for an exam. Once approved, you will be notified by mail. You will be eligible to attempt 4 tests during a one-year approval period. After the fourth unsuccessful test in the one-year period, the applicant will need to submit a new application and fee to TCEQ.

Testing Days and Times

TCEQ exams are available from Monday through Thursday at 8:30 a.m. or 1 p.m.  (except for holidays and college-related closures). The early start time provides better parking opportunities and if needed, allows enough time to retest. 

Steps to Pay and Schedule an Exam

  1. Examinees and/or employers must first pay for the TCEQ exam ($40.00 each time you take the exam*). Click Here to make a payment before scheduling an appointment. Fees are non-refundable/non-transferable. Employers who are paying for employees, please indicate the employee’s full name on the Examinee Information. *Make sure you bring your payment receipt on the day of your exam. 
  2. Once you have made the payment, you must schedule an appointment Here.
  3. Once your appointment has been made, we will email a scheduled confirmation test date and time along with additional information about parking and the location of our Testing Center. Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes before your scheduled test time. Walk-Ins are not allowed.
  4. On the day of the exam, please provide a valid, recognizable photo ID and payment receipt. We will provide scratch paper, a pencil, and a simple 4-function non-programable calculator (upon request). 

Parking

We are located in the Fletcher Administration Building, 1st Floor, Lower level. You may park in front of the building. However, it will start to get full around 8 a.m.

What to Bring

You will need a current, valid and recognizable photo ID, such as a driver’s license, passport, state-issued ID, military ID, etc. ID must be an original document; photocopied documents are not acceptable and documents cannot be presented on a cell phone or any electronic device.

Make sure you bring your payment receipt on the day of your exam.

On the day of the test, we will provide scratch paper, a pencil, and a simple 4-function non-programmable calculator (upon request).

  • Those taking the Landscape Irrigation test are allowed to bring engineering scale and graph paper
  • Those taking the Municipal Solid Waste test are allowed to bring training manuals, notes, etc. (This is an open book exam)

What Not to Bring

The following items are NOT ALLOWED in the testing room: electronic devices (cell phones, smart watches, pagers, photographic devices, etc.), hats/jackets (these items will be placed in our lockers), sunglasses, food or drinks, dictionaries, etc.

Scores and Retakes

The minimum passing score for TCEQ tests is 70. With computer-based testing, you get:

  • Immediate printing of exam score and analysis feedback with email option
  • Faster receipt of licenses
  • Immediate retesting available
  • User-friendly computer screens, quiet testing room and friendly staff

Examinees that are testing for the first time and do not pass have the option to retest at no charge for a second attempt as long it is done immediately after their 1st test (same day). Candidates are not allowed to take more than 2 tests attempts in one day and are not allowed access to study materials between exam attempts. Retesting on a different day will be $40.00 each time. SATURDAY APPOINTMENTS ONLY TEST ONCE.

Texas Commission on Fire Protection Exams

What is the TCFP Mission?   

The mission of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection is to aid in the protection of lives and property of Texas citizens through the development and enforcement of recognized professional standards for individuals and the fire service. The commission's authority is defined by TX Gov't Code Chapter 419. The commission's strategic plan includes two major goals: The agency fulfills its first goal by providing education and assistance to the fire service and fulfills its second goal through three program areas by enforcing statewide fire service standards.

When registering for your online TCFP test, please be sure to contact your preferred online testing center for general information AFTER application is approved and invoices paid. If you need to register, please do so with FIDO.

Registration and Proctoring Fee

Steps for taking the TCFP exams at San Antonio College:

  1. After the Testing Application is APPROVED and the TCFP Invoice is paid thru FIDO.
  2. CLICK HERE to make a payment before scheduling an appointment. Fees are non-refundable/non-transferable-$25.00.
  3. Schedule your TCFP exam online with San Antonio College at TCFP APPOINTMENTS.
  4. Arrive 30 minutes early to check-in.
  5. Our TCFP test-proctoring fee is $25.00 per exam and must be paid each time you take the exam which is non-refundable/non-transferable. 

*The TCFP testing fee is separate from the Testing Center Proctoring Fee.

Items Needed

On the day of the test you will have to bring your valid Government/State issued Photo ID and a printed copy of your TCFP Online Exam Eligibility Form. 

Instructions for FIDO to print TCFP Online Exam Eligibility Form:

  1. Log into your FIDO account.
  2. Click on the 3 bars that open the navigation menu, choose Records.
  3. Click on the Testing Section in the green navigation bar.
  4. Scroll to your authorized exam (denoted by a blue highlight) and print the Eligibility Form.

Not Allowed Items

The following items are NOT ALLOWED in the testing room: electronic devices (cell phones, smart watches, pagers, photographic devices, etc.), food or drinks, dictionaries, etc.

ATI TEAS Exam

Fees

Fees are paid when you register through the ATI Testing website. San Antonio College is unable to reschedule or refund your ATI exam fee.

Results

ATI TEAS exam results will be posted on your student account at https://www.atitesting.com after logging in and selecting the Results tab.  Most results are posted immediately following the TEAS Exam.  If you have questions regarding Nursing School ATI Test Score Guidelines and Retesting policies, check with your nursing institution. 

After your test, your scores are automatically sent to the location where your test was administered at no cost. If you need your results sent to another college or university or multiple locations, you will need to order them through ATI.

What to bring to your ATI

Photo ID: To be admitted to your testing session at San Antonio College, you will need a valid current recognizable government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license, passport, or green card with a current photograph and examinee's signature and permanent address. Your ID must be an original document; photocopied documents are not acceptable and documents cannot be presented on a cell phone or any electronic device. Please note: a credit card photo, temporary license, or student ID does not meet these criteria.

You will not be admitted to the test if you do not have your ID or if your ID does not meet these requirements.

ATI Log-in Information: If taking the TEAS exam at San Antonio College, you will need to bring your ATI username and password. Test-takers who do NOT have their ATI username and password will not be able to take the exam. For more information contact ATI Testing at 1-800-667-7531 prior to your exam. 

What not to bring to your ATI

The following items are not permitted in the exam room. Please leave them at home or in your car:

  • Additional apparel: This includes, but is not limited to, jackets, coats, hats, and sunglasses. Discretionary allowances are made for religious apparel. All apparel is subject to inspection by the proctor.
  • Personal items: These include, but are not limited to, purses, computer bags, backpacks, and duffel bags.
  • Electronics: These include, but are not limited to, cell phones, smartphones, beepers/pagers, calculators (will be provided), and digital or smartwatches.
  • Food, drinks, or tobacco products.

Testing with Accommodations (Extended Time)

Students with accommodations CLEP/ TEAS/TSI must contact San Antonio College Student Accessibility Services at 210-486-0020 prior to taking the test. Student must provide approved accommodation letter to SAC's Assessment Center.   Approval by SAC's Student Accessibility Services will be required prior to scheduling.   

Additionally, all examinees who require extended time must complete the Accommodation Testing Request Form to test at San Antonio College-Assessment and Testing at least one week prior to the desired exam date.

CLEP/TEAS exams vendors require documentation of a disability in order to provide an administration with testing accommodations.

Arrive Early

Important! Please arrive at the testing center 30 minutes prior to the exam. Allow yourself plenty of time to park and get to the testing center on time for your test. Those arriving late will NOT be allowed to enter the testing room.

San Antonio College’s GED thru College Program provides free classes to prepare students to pass the GED exam and transition into career training or college. This instructor-led course is available both in person and remotely.

  • LearningExpress Library requires that you create your own sign-in account but does not charge a fee. This resource offers test preparation, flashcards, reviews, and practice tests. Learn how to access LearningExpress Library with this video tutorial. Please note that LearningExpress Library is only accessible while on campus and NOT offsite.

Accomodations

The GED Testing Service offers full access to the GED test for students with disabilities. Test accommodations are individualized and considered on a case-by-case basis. Submit your request to the GED Testing Service here.

Test Day Information

The GED Testing Center is located at San Antonio College in the Fletcher Administration Building (FAB) Room 103. Students will need to arrive at the Testing Center (Fletcher Administration Building 1st Floor, lower level) 30 minutes in advance to sign in for their scheduled appointment.

Please read carefully what is and what is not allowed in the testing lab.

What to bring:

  • A government issued identification (Texas DL/Texas ID, Military ID, Passport/Visa, or Consulate ID).  
    • ID must be an original document; photocopied documents are not acceptable and documents cannot be presented on a cell phone or any electronic device
    • ID must be valid; expired documents are not acceptable
    • ID must bear your first and last name exactly as it was when registering for the test
    • ID must include your date of birth and signature.

What not to bring:

    • Cell phones and similar electronic devices, and regular watches or smart watches, etc. are not allowed inside the testing room.  Anyone carrying any of these items will not be allowed into the testing room.
    • No backpacks, bags, or purses of any size allowed in the testing lab.

Test Scores

You will need a minimum total score of 580 points with no individual test score less than 145 on each of the four exams.

Retest Policy

The GED Testing Service retest policy requires a 60-day waiting period after the first three attempts.
