Scholarships
Scholarships are a key way to pay for tuition and fees at San Antonio College. We offer foundation, departmental, and program awards to help eligible students afford college.
Student Refund Petitions
A Student Refund Petition provides students with an opportunity to request an exception to the College's published tuition and fee refund policies when extraordinary or extenuating circumstances prevented them from meeting established deadlines or eligibility requirements.
Submitting a petition does not guarantee approval. Each request is reviewed individually by the Student Refund Petition Committee based solely on the information and supporting documentation submitted by the student, along with relevant institutional records. The Committee determines whether the documented circumstances warrant an exception to the College's published policies. Students are responsible for submitting a complete petition, as the Committee does not independently investigate claims or obtain documentation on a student's behalf.
Complete refund petitions are generally processed within 15 business days of receipt. Petitions requiring additional documentation are generally processed within 30 business days of receipt, provided the requested documentation is submitted by the established deadline. Processing times may be extended if additional information is received after the deadline or if committee meeting schedules require additional time.
A Refund Petition Is Not Intended For:
A refund petition cannot be used to:
• Request a grade change.
• Appeal an academic decision or disciplinary action.
• Request reinstatement to a course or academic program.
• Appeal financial aid decisions.
• Resolve disputes regarding course instruction or instructor performance.
• Request changes to enrollment or withdrawal records that must be addressed through the Registrar's Office.
• Circumvent published college deadlines or policies without documented extenuating circumstances.
