The Turbon Student Center is beautiful! Enjoy lounging, our bowling alley, pool tables, ping pong, video gaming area, and much more. Students are encouraged to get involved in student organizations. There are numerous organizations on campus: social, special interest, and those affiliated with educational departments. CultureFest & Rib Cook-offThe CultureFest & Rib Cook-Off has become a tradition on our campus. Every year, on the Thursday before the Battle of Flowers Parade, we welcome one and all to celebrate with us. Admission is free and open to the public. |
Civic EngagementTigers Serve! What a great way to honor the legacy of Saint Artemisia Bowden, who served the college and community for 52 years. It might be the community garden, Jessica's Project, the MLK or Cesar Chavez Marches, the Juneteenth Parade, or sending e-cards to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Serve well! |
EMBODI: Men of Color ConferenceEmpowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence (EMBODI) conference is designed to collaborate with established organizations and agencies to address the plight of an often-overlooked demographic: young men of color. |
Student Engagement Grants (SEG)
Grants are appropriate for the academic year. A grant recipient who demonstrates a commitment to the project initiative and maintains academic eligibility may receive funding for each session.
The Department of Student Life has SEG opportunities in the following areas: Alamo Institutes, Spirit and Pride Crew, Student Government Association, Extramural Sports, QEP, and the Collegiate 100.
