At Northwest Vista College, our Business & Management Field of Study can be an ideal way for you to get started in the field. Our program gives you a broad base of practical knowledge and the chance to apply it to real-world examples. About the Program Coordinator: Dr. Calvin Fogle
Teaching Philosophy
"I embrace active learning to stimulate intellectual academic harmony, knowledge transference between instructor and student and cooperative problem-solving. I believe this sets the foundation for a life-long collaborative community of practice. My goal as an instructor is to ignite in my learners a passion to challenge them to question assumptions as well as collaborate with faculty and peers to develop innovative solutions. With this newfound business knowledge, we can attempt to address our society’s most urgent issues and effecting social change locally and worldwide. This goal fosters a combination of educational augmentation and innovation which integrates learner’s experience in the workplace with scholarly research in order to bridge theory with practice."

"I have been a faculty member of Northwest Vista College since 2015 where I facilitate Accounting and Business courses. I am a veteran, spending 12 years combined in the U.S. Military. Prior to joining the Alamo Colleges, My previous Full-time appointments included Western Governors University from 2013-2017, and with Strayer University from 2011-2013 where I was also an Associate Dean for the Campus. My expertise is in supply chain management, cost accounting, and organizational leadership. Professionally, I have 15 years’ experience serving in the capacity of staff and management in the corporate sector, 5 government agencies, and as a business owner to several organizations, providing services such as operational development, organizational needs assessment, business optimization, and program evaluation."
