About the Program

The Digital Media program prepares students for careers in digital content creation by developing practical skills in web design and development, graphic and visual content design, interactive media, UI/UX and interface design, digital video, and online content production.

Students learn how to plan, design, create, publish, and evaluate digital content for websites, businesses, organizations, social platforms, and interactive environments. Coursework combines creative design with technical skills and gives students hands-on experience with industry-standard software, web technologies, accessibility standards, content management systems, digital publishing, e-commerce, and professional production workflows.

Digital Media skills are used across industries. Businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, nonprofits, marketing departments, technology companies, and other organizations need professionals who can create and manage effective digital content.

The program prepares students for entry-level employment, freelance and entrepreneurial opportunities, career advancement, and continued education while helping students build professional projects and portfolio pieces they can show employers and clients.

What will I learn?

Students learn how to create professional digital content from concept through publication.

Projects may include websites, graphics, user interfaces, interactive content, digital publications, video, social media content, e-commerce experiences, and other digital assets.

Students develop skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, UI/UX prototyping, Adobe Creative Cloud, responsive web design, accessibility, W3C standards, SEO, analytics, digital marketing, content strategy, Git/GitHub, and professional portfolio development.

The program emphasizes both creative design and technical implementation, helping students understand how digital content is planned, created, tested, published, evaluated, and maintained.

Students learn how creative, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills work together to produce content for real-world environments. Students finish the program with projects and portfolio pieces they can show employers and clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Have to be a Wiz?

No.

You do not need to know how to code, design websites, edit video, or use professional design software before entering the Digital Media program. Courses begin with foundational concepts and progressively build technical and creative skills.

Students should be comfortable using a computer, browsing the web, managing files, and learning new software. Curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and a willingness to practice are more important than entering the program with advanced technical skills.
