ART APPRECIATION (ARTS 1301)*

Learn the language of art and develop the skills to look, think, and talk about art. You’ll explore why artists create, how artworks communicate meaning, and how culture and history shape what we see. Students will critically interpret and evaluate works of art within formal, cultural, and historical contexts.

ART HISTORY I (ARTS 1303)

(Prehistoric to the 14th Century) Travel back in time and explore how humans have expressed creativity from cave paintings to cathedrals! In Art History I, you’ll uncover the stories behind ancient masterpieces and discover how art shaped early civilizations across the world.

(14th Century to the Present) From the Renaissance to today’s contemporary art scene, this course takes you on a journey through the evolution of art and culture. Explore how artists challenged ideas, sparked revolutions, and redefined what art can be.

ART METALS I (ARTS 2341)

Learn how to design and create your own jewelry and small metal sculptures using traditional and modern techniques. Perfect for anyone who loves hands-on creativity and wearable art. Art Metals I introduces metalsmithing processes like cold-connections, silver-soldering and forming in studio environment.

CERAMICS I (ARTS 2346)

In Ceramics II, you’ll refine your throwing and hand-building techniques, experiment with new surface treatments, and dive deeper into sculptural and functional design. This class is all about pushing your creativity further and bringing your artistic vision to life in three dimensions.
