About the Program

The Fine Art Program at Northwest Vista College prepares students for transfer to a four-year college or university while fostering creativity, technical skill, and critical thinking. Students may pursue an Associate of Arts degree with concentrations in Art, Digital Art, or Liberal Arts. Whether your goal is to continue your education or explore your creative potential, our faculty provide a supportive environment where students can grow as artists and visual thinkers.

  • Palmetto Center for the Arts is the creative home of Northwest Vista College's Fine & Performing Arts programs. Opened in 2009 through the vision and support of the surrounding community, the center brings together Art, Dance, Drama, and Music in a vibrant environment where creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression thrive.

    For Fine Art students, the Palmetto Center is more than a place to take classes, it's where ideas are developed, artwork is created, and artistic practice comes to life. Students learn in studios, exhibit their work in the Palmetto Gallery, and engage with professional artists through exhibitions, lectures, and workshops. These experiences connect classroom learning with the broader arts community while preparing students for continued study and creative careers. (**This section needs a photo addition**)

We aim to strengthen student belonging by providing relationship-based mentoring and professional development support preparing students for academic success, creative confidence, and transfer or career pathways in the visual arts.
