Vice President for Student Success
Dr. Gourjoine M. Wade is the Vice President for Student Success, and brings more than 20 years of experience advancing student access, success, and equity across diverse college communities.
He is widely known as a first-generation college graduate, student success champion, and strategic innovator who integrates data-informed practices with a compassionate, student-centered leadership style.
Dr. Wade oversees SAC’s Department of Student Success, which supports students from their first point of contact through graduation. The division includes admissions, financial aid, student life, advising, wellness services, and other key programs that help students enroll, stay engaged, and complete their academic goals.
A native of Monroe, Louisiana, Dr. Wade has made a lasting impact in higher education by creating scalable first-generation student initiatives, mentoring emerging leaders, and securing millions in grant funding to expand student support services. His work as a board member for ScholarMatch further reflects his commitment to closing the college opportunity gap nationwide.
Dr. Wade earned his doctorate in higher education leadership and a master’s in higher education administration from Walden University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Grambling State University.

When completing this form, please include your name and contact information and provide as much detailed information regarding the incident as possible. Although anonymous reports may be submitted, we encourage you to include your contact information so that we may follow up with you for any further information or clarification that may be necessary.
Once an Incident Report has been received, it will be reviewed and appropriate action will be taken. This may include contacting the student, you (the reporter), and any witnesses you have identified. College disciplinary records are protected by a federal privacy law called the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
