Gina Mealey

About Gina Mealey

Originally from Wisconsin, Professor Mealey earned her Bachelor’s in Chemistry from St. Norbert College and completed her Master's in Chemistry at Texas A&M University. She discovered her passion for chemistry and for helping others understand it during her freshman year of college. The following year, she became a teaching assistant and ultimately decided to pursue an advanced degree with the goal of teaching at the college level.

Professor Mealey currently teaches General Chemistry I and II for science majors at NLC. She has also taught Chemistry for Engineering Majors as part of the Texas A&M Engineering Academy. She has been with NLC since the campus opened in 2008.

Professor Mealey enjoys seeing students grow throughout the chemistry sequence, especially as they become more confident and independent thinkers. Her mentoring approach is grounded in empathy and practicality, informed by her perspective as a parent of a college-aged daughter.
