About Dr. Jennifer Quintero

Dr. Jennifer Quintero grew up in an Air Force family and lived across the U.S., from Honolulu to Washington, D.C. She earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biochemistry and Cellular & Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at UT Health Science Center, where she also conducted postdoctoral research on inflammation and its impact on autism.

At Northeast Lakeview College, Dr. Quintero is an Assistant Professor of Biology in the Natural Sciences & Kinesiology department. She teaches courses for science and non-science majors, including Human Anatomy & Physiology. She also advises the NLC chapters of Phi Theta Kappa and the National Society of Leadership and Success, helping students grow as scholars and leaders.

Dr. Quintero is passionate about learning and mentoring. She enjoys helping students explore their interests, develop confidence, and plan for future success whether in academics, research, or leadership. If you’re curious about biology, thinking about transfer or career options, or looking for ways to get involved on campus, she welcomes you to reach out and connect. Outside of work, she loves crafting, spending time with her family and dogs, and playing board games with her husband.
