Accessibility Tips and Tools

In this training session, you will learn how a few simple changes can make your online or web-enhanced course more accessible to students with disabilities.

In the past, the burden of accessing course material fell on the student and the Disabled Student Services department.  Today, however, the responsibility to ensure that all or most (85%) of the course content is accessible to ALL students is now on the instructor.

Objectives:

  • Identify reasons why accessibility is important.
  • List 5 different ways to address accessibility in their online or web-enhanced course.
  • Identify several resources available for more information regarding accessibility for all students.
