Pre-Commencement Overview
As part of our centennial celebration, San Antonio College has expanded the commencement ceremonies to encourage participation for candidates and graduates.
SAC candidates for graduation and graduates will participate as follows:
- Summer graduates and Fall candidates will participate in the Fall commencement, which will occur in December.
- Spring candidates will participate in the Spring commencement, held in May.
While Fall and Spring ceremonies may be held in different venues, the celebration and recognition of our students' educational accomplishments are given equal importance and respect.
Participation in a commencement ceremony does not ensure automatic fulfillment of requirements or that a degree will be awarded at the time of the ceremony. All degrees and certificates earned will be officially documented on the student’s academic transcript.
San Antonio College graduation candidates earning an associate degree or a certificate wear red caps and gowns. Graduates earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing wear black caps and gowns.
If you have completed the graduation application, you were asked to provide your cap and gown size and home address. This information is important to ensure that your one-time complimentary graduation regalia is prepared for you.
