Social Work Program

Our Social Work Program offers two pathways.

Transfer pathway:

Helps prepare learners who desire to transfer to a 4-year program by first introducing learners to the discipline of social work and secondly by providing each learner with a strong foundation to foster a better understanding of human interaction, specific needs of individuals, families, groups and communities. While simultaneously providing them with their needed core requirements.

Workforce Pathway:

San Antonio College is the only college to offer an A.A.S program and a Level II Case Management Certificate, in the Alamo Colleges. Our faculty are professional social workers who bring a wealth of experiences and compassion to the classroom. We take pride great pride in not only teaching social work, but being the face of social workers. While the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) does not currently accredit 2 year programs, we strive to meet accreditation standards by aligning our program with CSWE standards.

Sociology Department

Have you considered taking a Sociology Course at SAC? Sociology is an exciting field that can help you discover new ways of thinking about the social world around you and equip you with in-demand job skills for careers in the 21st Century!
