Unconnected with a Sense of Belonging explores the tension between isolation and connection through paintings shaped by the artist’s experiences of family, community, and solitude. Flowers become a visual language for emotions that can be fragile, resilient, chaotic, confident, or disconnected. Created in the private space of the studio and shared publicly through the exhibition, the work reflects on how isolation and belonging can exist together. Read more...

Cosmic Art Night

Fine and Performing Arts at Vista presents Cosmic Art Night. Materials and studios glow under ultraviolet lights creating surreal, dreamy vibes while you explore the arts of ceramics, drawing, painting and dance. Professors and students will demonstrate the potter's wheel and screen printing techniques on paper. Bring your own t-shirt to silkscreen. All additional materials provided. Scapino! is a fast-paced, slapstick comedy about a clever servant helping two young men protect their secret romances from their tyrannical fathers. Through a series of wild schemes, bad impersonations, and extortion, Scapino successfully tricks the greedy parents out of their money. Ultimately, shocking family secrets reveal the lovers are a perfect match anyway, forcing the fathers to forgive Scapino's chaotic deception.

Anna in the Tropics a Pulitzer Prize-winning 2002 play by Nilo Cruz set in a 1929 Tampa cigar factory. The story revolves around the arrival of a new "lector," a traditional worker hired to read literature aloud to the cigar rollers. When he begins reading Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel Anna Karenina, the book’s themes of passion, infidelity, and tragedy spark intense real-life drama among the workers.

Four artists come together for an evening celebrating the artistry, character, and imagination of composers whose music continues to connect performers and audiences across generations. Soprano Dr. Minkyung Lee, baritone Dr. Phillip Hill, and pianists Prof. Rick Rowley and Dr. Eun Joo Fierro bring their individual voices and musical perspectives to a program spanning Monteverdi, Mozart, Poulenc, Carlisle Floyd, Donizetti, Granados, and Gershwin.

NVC Chamber Singers & Texarkana College Choir

This fall, the NVC Chamber Singers welcome singers from Texarkana College for a special musical collaboration as we prepare together for the 2027 Texas Two-Year College All-State Choir. We are also pleased to welcome Dr. Marc-André Bougie as guest composer and choral director, sharing his music and artistic vision with our singers. A distinguished composer, conductor, and educator, Dr. Bougie brings a unique perspective to the ensemble through his work as both a composer and performer.

Together, the singers explore a musical journey from individual expression to the power of collective voices. Dr. Aurelia Rocha joins the ensemble on cello, while Dr. Minkyung Lee conducts the final portion of the program. Dr. Marc-André Bougie and Dr. Eunjoo Fierro accompany on piano as the program concludes with a celebration of community, connection, and possibility.

Join the Instrumental Chamber Ensemble, directed by Aurelia Rocha and NVC Jazz Combo directed by Dr. Aaron Prado for an invigorating evening of student performance! The Instrumental Chamber Ensemble performs a variety of selections from the world of classical music, film, world music, and instrumental pop. The NVC Jazz Combo features an emphasis on student improvisation and small group interplay, presenting tunes from the great American jazz canon as well as original compositions and arrangements by our talented NVC students.

Open to the World: Where Every Voice Belongs is a celebration of music that crosses cultures, languages, and generations. Under the direction of Dr. Minkyung Lee, the Northwest Vista College Concert Choir explores how music connects us through shared experiences of hope, resilience, faith, community, and finding one’s voice.

Reflecting the diversity of the Northwest Vista College community, the program celebrates the idea that harmony does not require us to be the same. It emerges when we listen to one another, value our differences, and allow every voice to contribute to something greater.
