Amazon has announced it is expanding the career advancement opportunities it offers its 750,000 hourly employees in the U.S. by enhancing its existing partnership with the Alamo Colleges District and 140 national and local universities to provide fully-funded college tuition.

Employees in Texas will have access to education from nine Texas colleges and universities as well as national online education providers.

In October 2020, Amazon partnered with Alamo Colleges District as one of the Career Choice education providers. Eligible Amazon employees can join the Career Choice program through the Alamo Colleges to upskill in the following fields of study including Administration and Business Services, Healthcare, Mechanical and Skilled Trades, Transportation and Commercial Driving (CDL).

With Career Choice, Amazon works to make it easy for employees to advance their education—even building classrooms on-site in many of its buildings. Employees can take classes online or in-person in one of the over 110 Career Choice classrooms located in fulfillment centers in 37 states. Since launching in 2012, Career Choice has helped provide education for more than 50,000 employees.
