Alamo Colleges District Reaches Record-Breaking Enrollment for Fall 2025
August 28, 2025
The Alamo Colleges District announced today that it has reached record-breaking enrollment for Fall 2025, with 87,757 learners enrolled across its five colleges. This number exceeds the District’s target. It also marks a 12.1% increase compared to last year, and the highest enrollment in the District’s history. The milestone comes as the Alamo Colleges celebrates its 80th anniversary.
“This record-breaking milestone reflects the trust our community and partners place in the Alamo Colleges and their belief in our moonshot,” said Dr. Mike Flores, Alamo Colleges District Chancellor. “As we celebrate 80 years of opportunity, we are reminded that education transforms generations. Thanks to the support of our community through the bond, the launch of new workforce programs, and the expansion of our high school partnerships, we are opening doors for more students to pursue their dreams and build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and our region.”
Key Enrollment Growth Highlights
- Dual Credit/Early College High School enrollment surged to 21,851 students, a 30.96% increase over last year, making up more than a quarter of total enrollment.
- First-time-in-college students remain strong at 15,778, including more than 12,000+ AlamoPROMISE Scholars who attend one of the Alamo Colleges tuition-free.
- Continuing students climbed to 42,131, nearly a 13% increase, reflecting strong persistence and wraparound support.
Expanding High School Pathways
This fall, the District is working with 84 institutional partners, including 46 independent school districts, 21 charters, and 17 private schools.
Students have access to 28 Early College High Schools, with three new programs launching this year and two more planned for 2026, and 23 Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH), which include four new programs this fall and nine more in development for 2026.
The Alamo Collegiate Network thrives with San Antonio ISD at Fox Tech High School, St. Philip’s College ECHS, and Travis ECHS. At the same time, the Alamo Academies serve students from 10 districts and 18 high schools, connecting them directly to workforce opportunities. The district also provides dual credit access for nearly 200 homeschool students, ensuring a broad range of pathways for students across the region.
Building for the Future
This record enrollment aligns with the district’s vision of strengthening education and workforce connections and is supported by the recently approved $987 million bond. The bond will fund new academic and workforce facilities, including centers for nursing, advanced manufacturing, and emerging technologies, ensuring the District is ready to meet the needs of our rapidly growing region.
With a projected enrollment of 100,000 by 2030, the Alamo Colleges District is committed to increasing access to education and training that aligns with the community and industries.
