The Alamo Colleges District has published its 2025–2030 strategic plan, AlamoFORWARD. The plan charts the district’s path over the next five years as the largest higher education provider in South Texas. It propels the district toward its moonshot and charts a path to continue its commitment to deliver high-quality instruction, career-aligned pathways, and holistic support that help every learner succeed.

“AlamoFORWARD will create real and lasting change for our growing region,” said Dr. Mike Flores, Alamo Colleges District Chancellor. “Through powerful partnerships with our community, we will continue to bridge classrooms to careers in collaboration with our industry leaders and service providers, fueling our region's economic mobility and vitality.”

At the core of AlamoFORWARD are four key priorities that anchor the Alamo College District’s mission, vision, and values. These priorities organize and align current and future work, representing the collective contributions and aspirations that will drive the Alamo Colleges District.

  • Learners: Propelling our learners’ success from connection through post-completion
  • Talent: Nurturing a mission-driven workplace that enhances performance, collaboration, and leadership among all our employees
  • Community: Strengthening our community through collaboration and service
  • Performance Excellence: Delivering efficient and effective instruction, services, and operations

Through eight listening sessions, the organization engaged approximately 200 stakeholders, including students, community-based partners, board trustees, and staff from across the district and five colleges.

Last month, the district announced it reached record-breaking enrollment for Fall 2025, with 87,757 learners enrolled. By Fall 2030, the Alamo Colleges District anticipates enrolling 100,000 learners across its five colleges.

Initiatives under the plan include deepening the Alamo Colleges District Students First commitment, enhancing the nationally recognized AlamoADVISE model, and strengthening dual credit and early college programs.

Starting this year and continuing through 2030, the Alamo Colleges District will advance and monitor the impact of all strategies through shared leadership, periodically providing updates to the Board of Trustees and its community. Read the AlamoFORWARD strategic plan at alamo.edu/alamoforward.
