Toyota Texas announced a $70,000 donation to the Alamo Colleges Foundation at the grand reopening of its newly renovated Experience Center, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to workforce development, education, and opportunity in South Texas.

The donation will directly support students at Palo Alto College and St. Philip’s College through scholarships and career training programs in STEM-based industries, including the nationally recognized Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program. Additionally, it will help meet students’ basic needs through advocacy centers on both campuses.

“Alamo Colleges is grateful to Toyota Texas for their longtime support,” said Dr. Mike Flores, Chancellor of the Alamo Colleges District. “This most recent gift to Palo Alto College and St. Philips College students enables scholarships and career training programs in key STEM-based industries, including the renowned Advanced Manufacturing Technician program, and helps meet basic needs through student advocacy centers on those campuses. Thank you, Toyota Texas, for more than $1.5M of generosity over the last 22 years.”

Alamo Colleges District Chancellor Dr. Mike Flores, Dr. Adena Williams Loston, St. Philip’s College President, and Dr. Robert Garza, Palo Alto College President, were among the leaders present at the event, highlighting the shared commitment between Toyota and the Alamo Colleges District to expand access to high-quality workforce training and education pathways.

The announcement coincided with Toyota Texas’ celebration of its newly renovated Experience Center, located adjacent to the main manufacturing plant. Following an extensive renovation, the center now features immersive, state-of-the-art displays showcasing Toyota’s production processes, hands-on interactive exhibits focused on workforce skills, video kiosks featuring employee career stories, and an illuminated 3D map of the Toyota campus. The experience center also highlights Toyota’s history, community impact, and commitment to sustainability and innovation.
