Wildcat Willie is a friendly and smart chatbot that checks in with our students about their experience at Northwest Vista College and provides resources for any challenges they might be facing. The chatbot will interact with students via text message and is named after our mascot, Wildcat Willie. We are bringing Wildcat Willie to life as a chatbot as another way to support students, answer their questions, and communicate important information throughout the school year. Think of Wildcat Willie as a Siri built for NVC. It is also a great way to hear student feedback.
Who is Wildcat Willie - the Chatbot?
Wildcat Willie is an artificial intelligence (AI) texting chatbot focused on helping NVC students. It aims to involve our students in the conversation, answering their questions and helping address any challenges they may face as college students. This service is available on demand, 24/7.
Wildcat Willie serves as a resource for questions and connects students to support services and information regarding:
- Academics (Tutors, Academic Advisors, Study Skills)
- Financial Matters (Financial Aid, Filling out the FAFSA, Bill Payment Plans)
- Student Life and Involvement Activities (Clubs, Organizations, Events)
- Mental and Physical Health, and Overall Well-being (Counselors, Emergency Resources, Campus Recreation)
- And so much more!
The Wildcat Willie chatbot continues to learn about our student body through text exchanges and also proactively engages with them regularly to keep them informed and connected throughout their time at Vista.
Take Charge of Your Overall Well-Being
The Wildcat Willie chatbot will send an initial introductory "hello" text message to every student. Make sure your phone number is up-to-date in ACES and be on the lookout for a text from Wildcat Willie.
Please note that the text message will not be sent to NVC Dual Credit students.
