FREE Community-Wide Halloween Event at Northwest Vista College Oct. 20

Northwest Vista College (NVC) hosted the 9th annual HalloVISTA, NVC’s Halloween event geared towards families living near the college and the surrounding community.

“The purpose for HalloVISTA is to strengthen Northwest Vista College’s partnership with the surrounding community and create memorable moments for youngsters on their first college experience on a college campus,” said NVC Strategic Communications Coordinator Lisa McDaniel. “It’s a fun and safe space for students who are parents and all families to celebrate Halloween.

HalloVISTA was held on Friday, October 20th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 pm. It started with a wide range of activities that included carnival and yard games, mobile escape room, petting zoo, shark bull rider, kid’s arts & crafts, trick-or-treating, giant slide, food trucks and college exhibitions and vendor tables.

The costume parade followed at 6:15 p.m., followed by the costume contest and the announcement of winners at 6:30 p.m. A trivia contest will be held at 6:45 p.m. and the event will conclude with a movie screening of Monster House at 7 p.m.

“HalloVista is a great way to show the community what lies beyond the trees at Northwest Vista College – a 400-acre community college with a beautiful lake and academic programs for students to further their education,” said NVC President Dr. Amy Bosley.

The admission to HalloVISTA, all the activities as well as prizes and giveaways were free, and the event was open to the public. Food cost varied based on the vendor and the food items offered.
